Our History

Chairman Ananda Jayasinghe known as the “Father of screen printing” in Sri Lanka is the founder and visionary leader behind the evolution of the Antler Group. Antler began as “Agra Chemical” in 1978 by a group of five employees in a small rented house where the first ascolite ink, PVC ink, and solvent pipe adhesive glue were produced, showing their ingenuity and cohesiveness in the field, and commencing the pivotal first step in Antler’s long and successful journey.

With creative foundations laid as the stepping-stones for an evolving business; Antler established the first BOI approved fabric printing company in 1987, as Antler Fabric Printers.

Followed in its path was the next venture was to establish cleaning products for the Sri Lankan community, in 1990, Antler Industries was created for the purpose of manufacturing the now highly renowned brand – Britol.

In 2010, with changing demands in the economy and with growing knowledge in ink manufacturing, Antler took a radical step to establish a state of the art ink manufacturing business by the name of Antler General Industries.

In 2014, Antler’s experience in ink manufacturing and chemical management lead path to its latest branch, Antler Ink Company, through which Antler will manufacture and market Off Set Inks.
